Anfi Tauro is located in the idyllic Tauro Valley on the championship golf course. It is just a few minutes walk to the local Tauro beach, a little further walk to Playa del Cura. However, the best beach is just 5 minutes drive away in Amadores.
The development was started by a Norwegian called Bjorn Lyng and he had an amazing vision that he started to make a reality. The hotel in Anfi Tauro was built by carving out the volcanic stones from the side of the mountain. But rather than discarding the stones, they were used to build the villas. So if you stand at the top of the valley and look down (as per the photos on this page) you can see how beautifully the villas blend into the natural environment.
Stunning views over golf course to the sea
Tauro is based in the middle of the municipality of Mogan , in the sunny south of Gran Canaria which is primarily dedicated to tourism. It is famous for it's micro climate and has one the highest hours of sunshine per year in the world. The temperature is nice all year round, even December and January are nice. But there is so much more to this amazing island - it is not just sun and beaches - it has way more to offer than that.
The main six tourist areas are all within a short drive and comprise Arguineguin, Patalavaca, Anfi del Mar, Puerto Rico, Amadores, Tauro, Playa del Cura, Taurito and Puerto de Mogan. They all feature a range of restaurants and bars along the avenues and walkways that lead to the end of the beaches.
Amadores beach with its 5 star beach club (owned by David Silva) and numerous bars and restaurants is less than 5 minutes from the villa. The local Tauro beach is just a short walk away. It is not fully developed but is a great place to relax and unwind with locals.
Take a drive along the winding roads up the volcanic mountains and enjoy the spectacular views to the ocean as you relax and unwind and enjoy some traditional food in a local restaurant.
Cycling is a great way to explore the island and there are many bike rental shops. In the winter months, you will see many riders training in the mountains.
Swimming here is very popular as the beach is designed to cut off large waves from the Atlantic Ocean. There are loads of other water based activities to enjoy including parasailing, deep sea fishing, surfing, boat trips etc.
Sport tourism is becoming increasingly popular and is one of the main reasons so many of our guests come back year after year.
Puerto Mogan, known as Little Venice, has become quite accessible from Tauro since a new dual carriageway has been opened from Tauro in 2013 and is now just about a 5 minute drive away through the new tunnels. The Friday Market is highly recommended.
Puerto Rico has vehicle access from Tauro through a tunnel and is now just a few minutes from your villa . Night life here is lively but still far enough away not to be noticed unless guests wish to enjoy a special few nights out.
Meloneras has the amazing sand dunes which is a must-see and great for photos. It's a spectacular sight along the ocean.
Playa del Ingles is next and is much more lively and commercialised. The original tourist destination in Gran Canaria.
Las Palmas, the capital city , which is less than one hour's drive from Tauro boasts a modern Opera House, superb beaches and shopping attractions. Highly recommended to take the open top bus tour around the city. Hop-on and off when you want and stroll around the quaint streets of Triana and Vegueta.
There are 7 championship golf courses on the island, with the most popular , Anfi Tauro, on your doorstep, as the villa overlooks the driving range. www.anfi.com/en/anfi-resorts-golf/golf/18-holes-co...

Google Streetview is a great way to look around the private complex. If you look at our 3 villas on Google Maps or StreetView you can even see 360 photos of inside the villas. From this starting point head straight and The 19th Hole is the 5th villa down.
There are a number of different complexes that make up Anfi Tauro.
Anfi Tauro Topaz is where The 19th Hole and Casa Holmston are located. Also, on the Topaz development there is very good Spar supermarket and the excellent Tauro Grill restaurant. There is also the heated communal pool and within this section there is a children's play area and exercise equipment.
Anfi Tauro Zafiro is where Villa Carmela is located. There is another communal pool in the Zafiro complex and the views to Tauro beach are stunning.
The other developments that make up Anfi Tauro are:
Anfi Tauro Emerald (Hotel and timeshare) - this is also where the proshop for golf is located.
